Does a HP Laser Jet P2055dn have a fuser separate and apart from the printer cartridge?   All pages are ghosting.  That is,

faint images are appearing about 3" down the page from where the characters were first printed.

All hp laserjets have a separate fuser. To test put a sheet of paper on the manual tray, open tray 2 and perform a self test. When the back edge of the paper enters the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop the printing. Now remove the toner cartridge and look at the unfused image below. If the defect is present the toner cartridge is the issue and if the defect is not present, then the fuser has an issue.

davidzuts:  Thanks for your quick response to my question about fusers & cartridges.   The directions were clear and easy

to follow.   I found that at least  I have a cartridge problem and that it is worth buying a new cartridge to find out.

Thanks again,
