Hello,
We have an instrument running on WIN XP SP2. We cannot update windows to newer version or SP3. We would like to install LaserJet PRO 203 printer. When we want to install the drivers at the end we get a massage, the printer driver were not installed and we cannot use the printer. I have found out that this printer needs SP3 to run. Is this correct? And if yes, are there any other option driver (generic driver) to run this printer? The printer will be connected directly to PC via USB.
Thank you for the help,
Matej

Hi,
This is correct, Service Pack 3 is required to run the printer as listed by its System Requirements below:
To connect via USB a driver must be installed, as the installation cannot complete on SP2 it will fail communicating via USB
You might be able to add print capabilities only through a network connection by connecting the printer and computer to the same network and manually adding he printer from the Add Printer wizard by selecting a Standard TCP/IP Port with the printer's IP and by referring to the installation CD while selecting a printer driver, and this is not guarantee too but would be worth trying.
