I’ve done all the community prescribed items of unplugging, rebooting, taking out cartridges and reinstalling one at a time, etc., including making sure printer is plugged directly into wall outlet and nothing clears this 55.0602 error code.

Frustrating part is we just spent a bunch of $ on brand new HP printer cartridges just a month or so ago...and then this error code renders the printer useless. What else can be done to salvage this printer so I don’t have to buy a new one?

The printer has experienced a engine communication error.
— 55.0 — DCC internal communication error
— 55.0601 — NVRAM data error
— 55.0602 — NVRAM access error
— 55.1 — DCC memory error
Recommended action
1. Turn the printer off then on.
2. If the error persists, reset the printer:
a. Turn off the power by using the power switch, and then wait at least 30 seconds.
b. Turn on the power and wait for the product to initialize.
3. If you are using a surge protector:
a. Power off the printer.
b. Remove the surge protector.
c. Plug the printer directly into the wall socket and turn the printer on.
4. If the error persists, the printer will require service.

I've already done all these things...multiple times....and none of this worked to clear the error code.  How do I get the service that it requires?  As well what will this cost since I'm conveniently out of warranty right after I've just invested in new cartridges! Many thanks...

Many thanks!  I just did the NVRAM and it initially didn't work....but then I unplugged the printer again, as well disconnected the printer cable...let it all sit for a few minutes while I rebooted my computer....then plugged everything back in again and did the NVRAM again and viola, it completely reset the printer and I'm now good to go!

For those reading this, if you don't know how to reset the NVRAM, just google it and you will see a YouTube example of how to do it...really easy!

Many thanks again!
