My printer won’t print. It gives me an error 59.C0 and says, turn off and turn back on. When I do this it still gives the error. It will not print. What can I do to fix it.

Hi @Govanator,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

That 59.C0 error is not an ink issue; it points to a mechanical problem involving the developer feed motor (or a motor control board inside the printer). Here’s how we can troubleshoot and resolve it together:

Step-by-Step HP Recommended Fix

1. Power Cycle & Toner Check

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Keep it unplugged for at least 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • If the error persists, proceed to the next step.

2. Remove All Toner Cartridges

  • Open the toner cover and remove all cartridges.
  • Turn the printer back on without any cartridges installed.
  • Note: If the error disappears, the issue may be cartridge-related. If it persists, the problem is mechanical.

3. Reinstall Cartridges One at a Time

  • With the printer still on, insert one cartridge, closing the access door each time.
  • Do this one by one:
    • If the error reappears after installing a specific cartridge, that cartridge might be faulty.
    • If the error stays even with only one cartridge installed, the issue lies with the developer motor or control mechanics.

4. Update Firmware

  • Go to the Official HP® Support.
  • Download the latest firmware and install it; this can help clear mechanical error reports.

5. Factory Reset (Deeper Reset)

  • Press and hold Cancel + Wireless buttons (or appropriate key combo for your model) for 20 seconds.
  • This resets printer internals and may clear lingering errors.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
