Hi,
To protect the printer on the network I've setup the password for accessing the admin page.
When applied I could not enter anymore. It simply refuses to accept it.
I've read the posts of others who had similar experience and result is that I have to do factory reset.
I've tried:
Unpluging the printer and waiting for 2 minutes then pressing Cancel (X) button with Wifi button, then plugin power on and releasing it when Attention light flashes. I've released as soon as the first light appears and as the second time appears. It will not start factory reset.
Combination of the buttons: Cancel + Undo gives Download mode
Cancel + Power gives Download mode
Combination of other buttons had no result.
I've upgraded firmware to 3.82.1.25 with the help of the HP ReleaseNotes that has instructions how to flash.
But still I cannot login to admin page.
I would need help on factory reseting the device.
Thank You.

Thank You for Your answer.
I've succeded to restore EWS settings page.
These are the steps:
1. Clear network settings
2. Power off, wait 20 seconds and then power on.
3. Start Wifi Direct, connect to the printer wifi network.
4. On the printer, go to 'Network configuration' and print the configuration page
5. Find EWS pin on the that page
6. Go the EWS web site and click the login button
7. Enter:
'admin' and 'EWS pin number'
8. Configure printer as needed.
I could not succeed with factory reset.
This worked.

Hello @Jada1001, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Since the EWS administrator password is no longer being accepted, a factory reset is an appropriate next step. We understand you have already tried the Wireless + Cancel combination, but the sequence needs to continue after the Attention and Ready lights come on.
Steps to Factory Reset
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cable.
- Press and hold both the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons on the control panel at the same time.
- Keep holding these buttons while you plug the power cable back in and turn the printer on.
- Hold the buttons until the Attention light and Ready light turn on, then let go.
- Press the Cancel button four times.
- Press the Wireless button once.
- Wait for the printer to process the reset and restart automatically
Note: Performing a factory reset will erase all settings and configurations on the printer, including network settings, so you will need to set up the printer again from scratch.
Have a great day!

Thank you for coming back and sharing the solution.
I'm glad to hear you were able to regain access to the Embedded Web Server (EWS) and successfully configure the printer again.
It is also helpful to know that, in your case, a full factory reset was not required and access was restored using the EWS PIN authentication method.
Thank you for taking the time to post the resolution. Feedback like this is extremely valuable and may help other HP Laser MFP 135w owners who are unable to access the EWS after the administrator password is no longer accepted.
We're pleased to hear your printer is working again..
Have a great day!
