Color Laserjet MFP M477fdn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently (4-5 days ago) replaced the black toner cartridge in my Laserjet printer with a genuine HP cartridge (HP 410X). Since replacing with the new cartridge, my prints have seemed lighter/faded. This has happened with the paper I was using previously without issue. Shortly after installing the new cartridge, we also ran out of paper and got more of the same brand and quality, and have had the same problem. On closer inspection, there is an obvious grid-like pattern of white dots or voids in the printing (see attached photo).  Does anyone have any idea what the cause might be?  Did I get a faulty cartridge?

May be as simple as a bad cartridge, do you happen to still have your old one you can insert to test.

Print an internal print from the printer and see what it looks like. If it has the same problem, make sure the printer isn't set to economode. Then most likely it's your toner cartridge.

Now, if the internal page prints OK, then check your computer for proper settings, like the font style you're using. It looks too patterned to be a toner cartridge. I'm really thinking a font or a driver setting may be the culprit.
