Fax test failed. No dial tone detected. Printer was connected directly to the phone line.

I am unable to connect fax. What ever connection I use the dial tone was not detected in spite that I did hear dial tone.

Please help.

Sorry that you are having a problem with the printer. 

Perform a hard reset on the printer. Unplug the power cord from the back. Leave it out for 30 seconds and plug it back in. 

Also, check the end of the phone cord. See if it is a 2-wire (aluminum piece.

We have the same problem in our Charity office

We had the telephone company test the line, which works

We performed a hard reset on the printer. Unpluged the power cord from the back. Left it out for 120 seconds and pluged it back in.

Error message

Dial tone detected on telephone = Fail

Should we return our HP Laser Jet Mfp M426fdn printers, or can this problem get fixed
