I have firmware 20170710 (based on the configuration page) and I see that back in May firmware 20180510 was released.  I downloaded the .exe to install it and it runs and the final result is a smiley face but when I check the printer config it still shows the older firmware.

How can I update?  Is there a way to update directly from the printer?

I have a customer that was unable to update the firmware on its HP printer for several days, he also used WIN 10, I recommended him to try from a different computer with WIN 7 if possible, he used a different computer with WIN 10 and it worked.

You can try to Update from printers menu:

Thanks for the fast reply!  So I did tried it from the printer, it would not update / could not connect to service... I then tried the .exe from another computer ... and walla that worked!  Very odd but I'm updated!

Thanks again for your suggestions.
