cp1525nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have a CP1525NW that now provides an error "Firmware corrupt - ready 2 download" in the LCD window.

Not happy about it...  I cant reset it.  It appears that I need an NVRAM reset but some instructions require me to restart the power with the right arrow and cancel held down..  That does nothing... (unless i have to hold it for several minutes)

I also cant get to the reset menu as the arrow keys (all keys) dont change the screen.

Someone please let me know how to reset this piglet of a printer.

davidzuts,

Thanks.

For others... Here is what i did.

Search for your printers service manual.  One good thing about HP ... They do document some things well.

My service manual CP1520sm.pdf was quickly found (beware of manual sites and malware payloads)

Took the right side of the printer off. Detailed instructions on page 10.

Took a picture of the formatter circuit board.  Found the part number on the top left.  Mine was CE482-80001 REVA

Over to EBAY to find a reputable seller...

Replaced the board.

Restart with nothing connected ...

Back up and running...

With this error resets will not work. The only way to repair is to replace the formatter which contains the firmware. See the link below for available ones. Not that hard to replace. Just do a google search for the service manual and download and look for the instructions.
