Hello Wizards,

I tried to update my printer firmware which is now = 20160525.

I connect CAT/internet cable directly from routor -> printer.

But when I go ;
setup -> maintance -> there is no firmaware update button ?

Then I tried anoter way which would require something called "firmaware update utility"

I don`t  find on in that name in = HP LASERJET PRO MFP M177  (drivers category) ?

When I dowload latest version firmware = 20201012

And install that software , it does not give screen when i could send it to printer (usb cable is of course connect)

I don? t undrstand how to update firmware

Operation system is Windows 7 / 64-bit

Thank You ahead any advise, please

Connect using either router hardwired to print or by USB but not both.

Make sure all software is installed and verify you can print.  The firmware install requires the driver and all components of the driver.

Full feature software
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/LES/M177/Color_LJPro_MFP_M177_full-solution_16260.exe

LaserJet Reference M177

Get firmware here and re-read the instructions.

If the update button does not appear then possibly (I am guessing) a required OS driver such as a Microsoft redistribute runtime  is missing and windows 7 is unable to obtain the required component due to no longer being support.  Consider using a windows 10 or 11 system to do the firmware update.

There could always be an actual hardware problem and you might be better off contacting an agent or visiting a service center.
