Font scale and spacing vary for the same printout. Sometimes the text looks condensed and other times it looks stretched. What could be the cause of this? Could it be the way the paper is being fed into the printer?

@Hastings431

Welcome to HP Forums 🙂

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your print out looks condensed or stretched,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

How is the photocopy quality?

Does this happen while trying to print from one program or all other programs?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue. Click the link and follow steps: https://hp.care/2ExYRrP

Step 1: Use genuine HP toner cartridges

Step 2: Check the paper

Step 3: Check the EconoMode setting

Step 4: Check print settings

Step 5: Check the toner level

Step 7: Print a cleaning page

Step 8: Inspect the toner cartridge and imaging drum

Step 9: Replace the imaging drum

Step 10: Replace the toner cartridge

Let me know how this goes,

For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,

And your device is up and running again,

Have a great day 🙂

Cheers 🙂
