HP 130A Print Cartridge
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey guys!

I just purchased a "new" cartridge from eBay.

There is a date on it : 2017-02-15

I thought this could simply be the manufacture date but on the box, the year next to the copyright symbol is 2013...

So... is the date on HP 130A cartridge / toner the expiration date on the manufacture date?

Thanks!!

Detailed explanation for inkjet cartridge / print head and toner is provided by Provost Bob_Headrick

Yeah I red that thread before creating this one.

It doesn't really help me figure if the date is a manufacture of expiration date...

There is no "expiration" date on toner.  There is no "use by" date.

I would expect that the date on the box is as described:

Date of Manufacture on Packaging
The date of manufacture on the toner cartridge box is intended for HP internal processes and may be required to comply with regulatory standards in certain countries. The date of manufacture is not an expiration or “use before” date. There is no expiration date for the use of HP toner cartridges.

If there is a date on the cartridge itself (unclear from the description), then the date may be the "Warranty ends" date as shown in HP Printers - Ink Cartridge and Printhead Limited Warranty > Section Warranty Ends date locations (bottom row, second image)

The cartridge is not "expired".

It is likely Out of warranty (2017-02-15 = February 2nd, 2017)
