I've started getting warnings that my black cartridge, a 201X, is getting low. When I check to see how many pages I've printed, these are the totals:
Total Impressions: 1512
Monochrome Impressions: 1370
Color Impressions: 144
This cartridge is advertised as being high volume and giving up to 2800 pages. We typically only print text so it's not as though we're printing pages with excessive amount of toner. We do print greyscale unless the color is absolutely needed, which you can see from the totals above.
I'm assuming these numbers include the starter cartridge that came with the printer which tells me that I've actually printed less than 1500 pages on this toner cartridge.
Is this normal or is there something else that I need to look at? On all my previous HP printers, I've been able to go well over a year (sometimes several years) with a single toner cartridge (they were all monochrome printers), but this cartridge has lasted less than a year.

Usage page by HP never has good statistics. As to you older mono laserjets most of the model toners had yields of 4000 pages. The newer hp color have much smaller toner so less yield.

All the toner is HP OEM. I learned my lesson many years ago when I ran a computer network and we attempted to save money by using refilled cartidges. I ony use HP OEM.
The supplies status shows that this cartridge has printed 2232 pages. That's interesting considering that the Usage Page shows a very different number. The number of pages printed with the color cartridges doesn't jive either.
Either way, if 2232 is accurate, I feel better, although I still would have expected it to last longer. It was installed last November, so it's now about 10 months old. My older HP lasers (starting with the 3P up through the 5P) had toner cartridges that usually lasted several years.
