HP 3520

Please help.

I can't get my HP 3520 wireless printer to connect to wireless. Blue wireless light is flashing but will not connect.

I have looked around this forum for similar problems and have found a few that have been answered, but issue persists for me.

What I've tried so far:

Restore Default + Wi-Fi Protected Set UP (Push Button)
I held down the wireless button until I got the Wi-Fi Protect Set Up message, then pressed OK, and then I held down WPS button on my router as the printer instructed. I held the WPS button on router for a full minute before giving up. Printer and Router are 2 feet away from each other. I restarted this process and tried again (twice) before moving on.

Did not work

Tried to do Wi-Fi Protected Set UP (Pin)
I went to Wi-Fi Protected Set UP using the menu. I selected PIN set up. There was nowhere for me to enter my router's pin. There was a pin already listed for WPS pin. This number wasn't the pin of my router (!). I thought, Hey, I don't **bleep** I'm doing... let's press "Start". I do. The printer tells me to hold down WPS on router. Timer counts down from 4:00, but I only hold for a minute, because I'm already wasting a lot of time on this.
Did not work

Okay, deep breath. Next I did a google search on how to change the WPS pin on HP 3520 printer. This leads me to a page that's basically how to set up the printer from the beginning. Well shoot, guess I need to start from the beginning.

For future versions of your printers please, please, please let there be a way to change WPS on printer withouth reinstalling everything! Please, I am begging you. This could have been so much simpler!!! So much. So simple 😞

Reinstalling Printer

I go to my Devices and Printers and remove the printer. I then use Devices and Printers to add a new printer. Yes, I was hoping it would be that easy. My computer can't find it (and no surprise there since the problem isn't my computer it's that the printer won't connect to wireless!)

Starting Over

I have everything I need to get started reinstalling except the USB cable 😞  I look at the back of my printer and I have no clue what you'd even call that connection for the USB cable (It's usb, but not the flat version, almost a square shape where it connects to printer?). And you need it for the very first step... d'oh.

Okay, while I'm trying to figure out USB situation... is there something I'm missing here? Is there anything I can do that I haven't tried already? Please, I'm really struggling with this.

Yes, what you need is a Printer USB cable like this.

Page 34, Traditional Wireless connection is what you want to follow.   Do not plug in the USB cable until the sofware tells you to do so.
