I recently put a new fuser film sleeve in the fuser. The print quality is now good BUT, although I can't see any possible connection, the printer now multiple feeds and jams, where it never did before. It still prints fine fron trays 1 and 3, and even tray 2 IF only a single page is printed, but if doing a print job of 2 pages on tray 2, it prints fine, with no error message, but when you go to print again, it immediately gives a jam message for under the toner cartridge. Sure enough, there's a page under the cartridge. Occasionaly, there will ALSO be one in the rear door jam area.
I've tried switching paper cassettes with the one that works. Same problem. I've switched out all three tray 2 rollers with known good ones. Same problem. I even tried removing tray 3 entirely. No difference . Any suggestions?

I will try and give some information. This sounds like the pickup Solenoid or clutch on that tray is giving a problem.Or even the separator pad might be worn out.I would inspect the operation of the clutch or Solenoid while printing to see if its sticky or maybe slipping.Hope this will help.
It is so nice to give some help where possible and the forum is a great idea Thank You.Sometimes a picture speaks louder than words to find a solution.Should you find my help use full just give some credit for my effort please.

I don't know this model, but you will have to remove the side panel where the drive system is.Then with open covers do prints and look at the operation of the solenoids and clutches feeding and stopping the paper. Then determine if it not doing the right operation. This is the way i do it normally.Hope this will give you an idea.

Sorry for not replying sooner. Having changed a swing plate in one of these before, I am pretty sure this fix is going to take a lot of time, and I don't have much of that right now. When I have some down time I will tackle it, and post the results. Thanks!

Sorry it took so long to get back. Actually I found the solution in this YouTube video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkjSkiDXno0
He shows the locations of 3 small deadening pads that really perform no noticeable function, but are very prone to turning soft and sticky, and adhering to the parts that come in contact with them, long enough that it can cause jams; and what to do about them. I removed the first one, which is located right below the toner cartridge. It was indeed very gummy. That solved the jamming!! I was so impressed, I went ahead and took care of the other two, just as preventitive maintenance. Very easy, except for the tenacity of the adhesive used. I think everyone with a 4250/4350 should remove the first pad, and if you ever have reason to take the top or right side covers off, to do the others while you're in there.

I just replaced the tray 2 pickup solenoid in my HP4300N, because I would print about 50 pages and then it jammed under the cartridge. Doing small jobs you wouldn't know there was an issue, but once it went past 50 pages, the 13.01.00 error message appeared. I had already replaced all the pickup rollers and separation rollers, installed a new transfer roller, etc. but the error message still appeared. I am an old female, with a lot of patience and if I could repair it, with time and instructions, anyone can. The part number I used is: HP RK2-0269-000
No more paper jams! And I'm back to using my old workhorse laserjet, which I refuse to part with.

There is no need to buy a new solenoid if you did you'll come into the same situation one day.
All you really need is cutting one piece of paper and ford it into a V shape.
Put it in between the solenoid's two metals and it will be done and maybe will work forever.
If you like you can paste it onto one of the two metals and i like the side of L-shape one.

I came to 2nd what east 2100 said, except I would use the electrical tape instead of the paper. I think it will probably last longer. See the video I linked in my previous post. If the new solenoids no longer have the pad, you're good. If they do, one day you will probably get the same jam. I imagine it takes a while though, depending on usage, heat, and humidity.

I use the electrical tape for years too for hundreds of all kinds of printers.
But i am trying to use paper instead for a few months by now cause it's easier and sometimes electrical tape will be too thick for some models of printers and for some reason it will get sticky itself sometimes.
Electrical tape is OK most of the time.
