- HP 9500MFP Fans Ever Turn Off When Sleeping?

A Google search shows others have asked the question; but doesn’t provide an answer.
There seems to be little difference in noise between "ready" and "sleeping."
The printer uses about 85 watts when ready. Manual shows 249 watts in ready.
When the printer is in sleep mode; the fans are just as loud as when it's ready.
The printer uses about 30-35 watts when sleeping. Manual shows 85 in Sleep 2.
If the power is turned off while sleeping; the fans race. Often for just a few seconds; but I usually have to unplug the printer to stop the noise as the fans won't shut down for several minutes.
I can deal with the 35 watts; but it would be nice to not hear the fans when the printer is sleeping. Is this normal? Any user control?
Thanks,
Joe

There is no shut off for the fans. If you are getting excessive noise I would check the fan ducts to ensure that there is adequate airflow as this unit does run hot compared to other units. Also ensure that firmware is up to date.
