macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hello,

Hope someone knows a fix for this.

When sending jobs to a HP Color LaserJet M855 the margins are unequal. Looking at a portrait print either A3 or A4, the left margin is far smaller than the right. The page does not print centred, however in the print dialogue setup, the page is aligned centred, and when sending a the document to a different printer - the result is centred, equal and correct.

Have checked the paper trays, all seem correct. Have also printed from Manual Feed Tray (Tray 1) and the print alignment is correct.

What am I missing? Any ideas on how to correct this issue?

Many thanks,

Dan

Are you using A4 paper or "Letter" paper?

When feeding letter size/A4 from Tray 1 are you feeding long edge first or short edge first?

When feeding letter size/A4 from Tray 2 are you feeding long edge first or short edge first?

Please verify that the paper gudes are set correctly, guide adjustments that are aff by a fraction of an inch can cause issues.

Either the tray settings are off or the rollers from tray 1 are bad.

Try cleaning off the rollers with a damp lint free cloth to see if they can perform better or not.

Double check the paper tray tabs.  The tabs should be locked into a known position that is identified in some way such as LTR for letter.  The tabs being off by a single tick can cause print alignment problems.

Also, when printing be sure to print from the control panel reports area.  This will elimintat the influence of your PC in the troubleshooting equation to let us know if the problem is hardware related or not.

Thank you very much. Solved by removing all paper and resetting the guides. Took a few go's, the extra 'clicks' seems to have fixed the problem.

Glad it was a simple fix for a simple guy.

Cheers.
