HP CP4025

Hi,

Does HP CP4025 support auto-duplex doublesided printing? I have the option when printing to choose double-sided but it always prints each page on a new sheet. When I autoconfigure under Device Settings it sets Duplex Unit to "Not Installed"

It depends on what version of the CP4025 you have. The base model does not come with a duplexer, and would have a model number something like CP4025n (n for network). a CP4025dn (duplex network) would have a duplexer sold with it.

You can print a configuration page from the printer control panel. admin/reports/configuration page and the model number of your printer will be in the top left corner of the first page. Also, if a duplex unit is intsalled it would be listed under installed options.

The CP4025n will only support manual duplex printing. You print one side, then have to manually load the pages into the bypass tray / tray 1.

more information about manual duplex printing can be found on page 120 of the user guide located here CP4025 user guide

I printed the configuration page. I can't really tell if its the n or dn model. It says printer name: HP Color Laserjet CP4020 Series and Model Number: CC489A

Can I add a duplex unit?

I'm pretty sure that this is one of the models where the duplexer is only a factory-installed option.

SHThompson is correct, some models of printers can only be ordered with a duplex unit installed from factory, there are drive gears and other parts that are added to make the duplex process possible.
