When I first purchased our Color LaserJet Pro M252dw, I was able to print from it if I was connected to our home network and not the printer's direct network. This worked fine, as I was able to be on the internet and print things as needed from multiple wirteless devices. A couple of months ago, I was unable to connect to the printer and turned on the Wireless Direct feature. Now, even after turning off the wireless direct feature and resetting the printer completely, I cannot print from any device when connected to our home network. I have to turn wireless direct on, connect to the HP network, and then print. This is fine if I'm printing word documents or single pages, but it becomes useless if I'm printing things that require wireless to print (such as coupons). I've tried to set up the printer again using the HP Easy Start 3, and it does not show that printer when doing a search. The printer is connected to the same network as my laptop and it's not connecting. I've also tried setting up the printer again using the Mac printer set up wizard and it does not show up in the search box. I've tried using the IP-4 address and it just keeps searching for the printer and never finds it. This is a very frustrating issue to have.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Color Laser Jet Pro M252dw Printer. I understand that this printer is not found during the network setup and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
Restart the computer, printer, and router.
Check the network and printer connection status.
Manually connect the printer to your network.
Reset the print system.
-
Click the Apple menu, then click System Preferences.
-
Depending on your version of OS X, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.
-
Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, then click Reset printing system.
Figure : Resetting the print system
-
Click Reset in the confirmation window.
-
Enter the Administrator name and password, then click OK.
-
Wait for the printing system to reset. When complete, no printers should display in the list.
-
Try installing the HP software again.
Uninstall and reinstall the HP software.
Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.
