I've noticed a lot of people have been suffering the same problem, yet you sell this printer with very little support, kindly provide a fix, and if there is firmware update, Kindly make sure the link works, it keeps finding errors yet all the instructions are followed to a T.

Hi @vishnukode,
Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see from the post that you are having issues with slow print on your HP LaserJet printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,
Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
I would first suggest you make a photocopy on your printer. Place a document on the scanner glass and press the copy button to make a copy. Now check the speed of printing. If the copy is also slow, then try a hard reset on the printer:
- Unplug the power cable while the printer is powered on.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then turn on the printer and check.
Now try copying. If the copy is fine, then try printing and check whether the speed has improved or not.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the printer firmware, If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/IPG/M177/HP_M177_FW_Update_20160926.exe
Let me know how that goes! Thank you!
Cheers!

I have the same issue and that did not work for me. Mostly with PDF's. I open the printer icon and you can see it slowly loading the page a few 100kb a minute. so for a 5MB PDF it takes several minutes. Very much like there is little memory in theis printer to spool a large file to.

I own multiple HP MFP m477FDW a high end expensive model that’s HP sells.
What I find ridiculous is no one has a solution to this problem. All of the above things you asked us to do have been done multiple times and the issue was never resolved.
THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN TO HIGHER UP LEVELS. The issue happens often and usually with PDFs and anything that has pictures is slow as hell.
This is a huge flaw. Especially when we spend 700$ plus on printers.
I also have the latest Mac OS software. My printer is fully up to date. My router is brand new. It does the same thing even when it’s not on wifi. Some times with a cable a PDF prints really slow.
HP needs to solve this problem. It’s most likely a major software flaw. I mean older generation colour laserjets I’ve owned never gave me that issue. I also own and operate two HP office jet 8620 pro. They not one single time printed slow like your colour laserjet pro series.
So I want a final answer. I’ve done all the above you have suggested and I’m sure everyone here has done that even before you recommended it. Problem NOT SOLVED.
I wish people were more persistent as to nagging HP and not letting this slide. accepting below standard functionality is why companies never improve.
Stop accepting this so maybe HP engineers can do something about this once and for all. Such a large company. Why is this even a problem.

I agree - I bought this piece of junk at the recommendation of a sales rep who said it was great with Mac.
What I found was that it takes (at best) 25 minutes to print a basic presentation.
The issue is the lack of RAM.
I was advised to plug in a USB but opbvuously this does little to assist.
>>> HP, seriously, please direct me to a page where I can resolve this. It is UTTERLY ridiculous that you have created a printer with insuficient RAM to do basic printing and then do NOTHING to fix it. Do you now understand your market? Do you not care?
