Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281 Install Failed The software required for your device could not be installed

I have not updated Windows 7 for quite sometime, the last time I installed one of their updates it wiped out my OS.  Are their specific Windows 7 updates I need? I tried turning off anti-virus, that didn't help, I tried using the disc that came with the printer as well as tried by downloading the software of their site.

OK so i could be wrong, but I think you need a certain level of service pack that comes with updating the PC.
