HP Deskjet 2541
iOS

I just got my HP Deskjet 2541 printer today and everything works fine on the computer but when I try to connect my printer to my Iphone it asks for a password. I was wondering if anyone knew what to do. And thanks in advance

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

MKazi is at your service.

I understand that you have an HP Deskjet 2541 All-in-One Printer and are unable to connect to your iPhone as it is asking for a password. Not to worry, I'll be glad to assist you with this case.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Is the printer connected to a wireless network? If yes then please check if the iPhone is connected to the same network.
  • Try entering the password as 12345678

Meanwhile, please try to disable the wifi direct or the wireless direct feature on your iPhone because in this method the printer and the iPhone communicate directly without the use of a router in between.

Please click on this link to know more about the Wi-Fi Direct and HP wireless direct and how they work.

Also, if your iPhone is connected to the same wifi network then you may use the HP Smart app to print: https://hp.care/2xY0QmY

Alternately, you may attempt to print using the Apple Airprint from your iPhone as this HP printer support Airprint: https://hp.care/2xy7i68

Hope this information helps. Let me know how it goes. I'm always here to assist you.

All the best! 🙂
