I cannot get printer to print Tax forms 1099 there is no paper size that matches. No matter what paper size I choose in preferences I get error messages that there is an "unexpected paper size in tray".

Clarification needed, what size paper do you have loaded have you set the tray settings on the printer itself to match that paper size? Secondly, what paper size are you trying to print from the application.? Does a configuration page from the control panel of the printer print properly?

That's the problem. As I stated in question, there is no matching paper size.
Yes, I have set the tray size to fit the paper size of the tax form. When I go to preferences there is no paper size 8x11.

8x11 would be a custom sure and you would have to define it and set the printer for custom paper size.

I tried that and it still doesn't work. I gave up.
