HP LaserJet M125a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two computers in the network. I cannot print from the secondary pc. First I have to print the document on the main PC and then I can print on the secondary PC as well. After restarting or turning on the main pc, it does not print from the secondary pc again. The printer is properly installed on the main PC, the printer is properly shared on both PCs, and the printer is turned on. I tried to reinstall the drivers but the problem is unsolved. Old HP LaserJet P1102 Printers Even After Master PC Reboot on Both PC Printing OK

Welcome to HP support community.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  2. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  3. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  4. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  5. Try to print.

Assign manual IP address and that should fix the issue.

To identify which IP address is currently assigned to the printer, do the following:

1. From the product control panel, press the Setup button.

2. Open the Reports menu.

3. Use the arrow keys to select configuration Report and then press the OK button to begin printing the report.

Setting a Static IP Address

Once you know your printer’s IP address, entering it is pretty easy. Here’s what you do:

HP Printer Static IP Address

  1. Run your Web browser.
  2. In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
  3. Click the Networking tab.
  4. Under Connections, click Wireless.
  5. Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
  6. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
  7. Click Apply.

HP LJ Pro MFP 125a No network printer / ip cannot be set /. The network is set as shared on the primary pc. I hope you understand my problem. Certainly there is a problem in the printer driver, the same problem has the printer HP LJ Pro MFP M26a !!! We own an HP LJ Pro M1132 printer and it's okay. Problem description once again. We turn on all computers in the morning. Someone on their PC on the network wants to print a document to a printer shared on the primary PC. He won't do it. We have to print something on the primary PC and then it can print on all the computers in the network.

Do you have an Anti-virus/firewall installed on the PC?

Let us try these steps:

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

On the PC, go to Devices and printers > Right-click on the printer > Printer properties > Ports > Check the box for 'Enable bidirectional support'

To know and make sure the settings to share a printer, refer to this document.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have installed AVG antivirus program.
Several times I reinstalled the latest driver on the primary PC.
The primary PC cannot be set to - enable bi-directional support - gray color.
Even after restarting the primary PC you cannot print from other PCs, you must print the document on the primary PC.
Try installing this printer with the driver from your site and seeing that this problem cannot be solved. The problem will be in the printer driver!
I also tried HP print and scan doctor but failed.

Kindly check if the AVG program is blocking the connection to the printer on the shared network. Add an exception in the program if so.

You must be signed in as an admin to share a printer connected to your PC.
Also, make sure to use a private network and not public.

Install the HP printer driver on the secondary PC as well.

For more info on sharing the printer on a network, refer to this document.

keep me posted for further assistance.

I uninstalled AVG, I logged in as administrator, all computers are in one Workgroup network, I see all the computers in the network and I see the printer. I'm sure 100 percent is all set up as I should be!
I found one thing - the setup - enable bidirectional support!!!!!!!!!!
In our company we use these printers -HP LJ Pro P1102, HP LJ Pro P1606dn, HP LJ Pro M1132, HP LJ Pro M1212nf, old HP LJ 1020,1018, Canon MF3010, OKI C822dn. For these printers, sharing the printer is OK and all are allowed - enable bi-directional support!!!!!!!!!!!!
HP LJ Pro M125a, HP LJ Pro M26a, HP LJ Pro M127nf -  printer sharing does not work when the main computer is turned on and cannot be activated on these printers - enable bidirectional support !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
