HP LJ Pro M402dne - Tray settings for tray 1 and tray 2

Ok, we just rolled out some new HP printers and now I've got a few that will not let us do what they are designed to do. 

The one I'd like to work on today is the 

HP LJ Pro M402dne  (V3) Version 8:00:1326.3536

using the HP LaserJet Pro M402-M403 n-dne PLC6 driver. 

I am overly frustrated trying to figure out how to make this printer allow

-plain letter paper to always be printed from tray two automatcially 

- labels to automatcially be printed from tray one

Right now, all I can do is set tray one for everything to print to. 

I've tried changing the settings in Printing defaults on the  Printing shortcuts tab for labels and then letter paper in tray 2 and the General everyday for letter tray 2 plain paper. 

No settings I change allow me to have paper printing automtacially go to tray 2 and then automatcially sent labels to tray one. 

Basically, we were told that we should be able to keep tray one open and loaded with labels and have paper in the drawer (tray2). 

If we do this and want to print to regular paper, it goes to Tray one Every TIme no matter what I have changed the settings to. 

We would like it to go to tray 1 for labels and tray 2 for everything else. Please help.

I've had it half way set where it will ask to laod paper in one of the trays or accept the media available but now I can't even get back to this. 

Please HELP!!!!   I so want to go "Office Space" on this nice new printer....
