Hey folks,

I think I've destroyed my printer. Coming back from the US I brought my US printer to the UK, thinking that it takes both 110V and 220V. I was wrong and I did not check! How stupid. The front LED flashed and then everything turned off.

Have I destroyed it permanently?

It's damaged for sure, and if you manage to fix it you can only have problems running it on 220V.

You need to get a laser printer locally, only inkjet printers are dual power 110/220V

@Valsimot is correct. To use it in the UK you would either need to use a step down transformer or replace the power supply and the fuser and any other damaged components. Cheaper at this point to buy a replacement. Tough lesson on checking device compatibility when moving.

Thank you both. I've messed up that badly, huh! It is stupidity. I guess the only thing I can use from that printer is the toner. It is by the way M401dn.
