HP Print & Scan Doctor 5.3 says "...front door/cover is open or toner cartridge is missing..." It's got paper, toner cartridge (LD - offbrand from Amazon), power, and a green light... Printed fine until 2 weeks ago... I've removed/reinserted toner cartridge, opened & closed the lid, power off & on, all several times, same message... All green lights on the "Doctor", but won't print test page... Suggestions???

Are you able to tell me what kind of "hardware" failure you are suggesting?? I'm very mechanically inclined, and I have a wall full of tools... I have two "mantras" that I apply to many aspects of my life of 54 years:

1) If it was built by man, it can be fixed by man, and,

2) You only have to be 2% smarter than whatever you're working on...

If you can elaborate on this issue of my printer "glitch", I'm reasonably sure that I am able to bring it back to life, I.e. some factory service paperwork or videos, or maybe some references on YouTube... Either way, know that I appreciate your time... Thanx...

@subatomicgenius, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document  Blinking Lights on the HP LaserJet 1018 and 1020 Printer Series and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
