HP LaserJet 500 color M551
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

HP LaserJet 500 color M551 is still streaking after cleaning several times, new toners, and fuser  kit.

I've updated the firm wear and done everything else I can think of and I'm stuck.

Some times the streaks are tolerable - sometimes the streaks  are crazy.

I don't know what to do next and I have to get a mailing of 1250 pieces printed by Monday.
I cannot have streaks on my mailing.

Please help.

Your issue is probably the itb (transfer belt). Just do a google search on how to remove and you will probably see the streaks on the front or back or both. Cleaning with a lint free cloth may help, but if the streaks come back it means the wiper blade inside the belt has an issue. If that is the case what I do which may or may not work and could make it worse is I get a small can of a product called Bestine. (Art Supply Store). I then remove the belt and using the edges by the removal handles I move the belt towards my body which is the reverse of how the belt moves for about 2 inches and it will reveal a line of residue at the front of the belt. I clean off that residue with the bestine and lint free cloth and then move the belt in the oposite direction and look at the bottom front to see if move streaks are appearing. I clean them off with the cloth and continue in that direction. If no more streaks appear after a while you may be good to go. If not do the reverse thing again and see what happens. If no success then the belt needs to be replaced.

Another alternative, likely a temporary fix, is to take high pressure air, I used my portable, electric tire air compressor and blow out the transfer belt assembly; focus on the far end of the transfer belt assembly.... the end farest from the blue locking pinch points.  CAUTION:  Use rubber gloves to hold the transfer belt assembly... its ackward and the gloves will get dirty with toner.  ALSO...... 1) DON'T TOUCH THE BELT AS YOU ARE PREFORMING THIS PROCESS, HOLD THE TRANSFER BELT ASSEMBLY BY THE EDGES OF THE BLACK PLASTIC FRAME; 2) PUT ON AN AIR MASK - AND HOLD YOUR BREATH WHILE BLOWING OUT THE UNIT - AS TONER WILL GO EVERYWHERE!  The print quality immediately improveD after taking this action.
