Dell Inspiron 5482
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Dell Inspiron laptop with W10 OS and am trying to connect a HP Laser Jet 6P  Serial No NLBB406133. This printer is ~ 25 years old and has worked without any issues on another Windows 7 laptop.

I have tried various online tools to help me but it seems the new laptop cannot even "see" the LaserJet 6P .

I read some online forums that talk of "cable issues" to get the LaserJet 6P working correctly with Windows 10 ?

I have read the HP Windows 10 notes on printers both supported and not supported by W10 and cannot see a specific reference to the LaserJet 6P?  Only the 6 L is noted as not being supported by Windows10 and this is confusing ?

I would welcome advice as it seems so wasteful to dump a perfectly operational solid printer.

Thank You

I am not sure about this and would welcome advice

How are you connecting? Using a Parallel to USB adapter? Your best bet to get a parallel printer working with Windows 10 is to use a parallel to network adapter like this
