The only software for my printer I was able to find was the HP Easy Start 2.9.3.01. This software "hangs" in the Install part of the window where it is attempting to download the "Essential Software". I found the "HP Easy Start.log" file and the last lines contains the following -
Jun 7 13:00:05 HP Easy Start[2572] <Info>: [OWSActionLoopTask] - Got action to execute: StopWebFrame
Jun 7 13:00:05 HP Easy Start[2572] <Info>: [OWSActionLoopTask] - Got action to execute: SetupDeviceSoftware
Jun 7 13:00:05 HP Easy Start[2572] <Info>: [OWSDeviceSetupSession] - Resolving OWS Setup task
Jun 7 13:00:05 HP Easy Start[2572] <Warning>: [OWSActionPerformingTask] - Did execute command StopWebFrame with error (null):0
Jun 7 13:00:11 HP Easy Start[2572] <Info>: [OSPBundleVersionChecker] - Bundle is not found
Jun 7 13:00:11 HP Easy Start[2572] <Warning>: [OSPBundleVersionChecker] - Bundle is not found
Can anyone direct me to the software driver so that the scanner part of the printer will work. The AirPrint feature has allowed the printer to be discovered and only print queue added. I have the HP Easy Scan software and it cannot see the scanner hardware from the printer.

I just found that in the App store there is a utility called "HP Smart". Downloading and running this free software allows me to perform document scans again on my HP LaserJet CM1415fnw.

Thank you very much for this post! I have a LaserJet MFP M28w and was at my wits-end with trying to get the software to work on my older MacBook Air (early 2014). Initially, I downloaded the software from HP's site and the was able to print just fine; however, the scanning function was not working. Of course, I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Next, I realized my mac OS was out of date and for some reason, decided to shoot for the stars and downloaded the latest Catalina. When I did that, the HP software couldn't even download! It just lagged and lagged. Finally came on this forum and followed your suggestion of going through the Apple App store and downloaded the HP app. Printing and scanning functions are all working now!
