Try a power reset -
1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Also, try these steps - HP Printers - USB Printer Setup
Let me know.

@JonTrepte, thank you for the response.
You are getting this error due to software incompatibility.
HP LaserJet CP1025 Color Printer is not supported with macOS 10.15 Catalina. HP LaserJet CP1025 Color Pinter driver for macOS 10.15 Catalina is not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.
NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please do not take this personally but I am a very unhappy camper. I went to Staples (San Luis Obispo Ca) for some ink but ended up buying the HP Laser Jet printer (black only). With help I hooked it up wireless to my Mac Catalina operating system.
Purchase Date Jan 6th 2020. I printed approx 5 pages to confirm satisfactory performance - all okay, but have had no reason to printanything as I use e-mail.
With approach of tax season I needed to print a copy of my electronic return. After 20 pages I had to load more paper, still okay as printing resumed. Suddenly I had a "paper jam", I managed to remove offending paper, printing continued after maybe 50 pages "jammed paper" message showed, I thought I had removed the paper, but this time the same message re-appeared, I can hear the runner moving even hear what sounds to be paper rustling. Frustrated I drove to Staples, yes they too could hear the sound of the paper but could not see it. They had no solution to offer.
Hence this letter.
I am thus appealing to you, at age 84 I hardly feel it is incumbent upon me to start opening the machine and visually searching for whatever is jambing the machine, nor do I feel competent.I now rue the day I junked my 5+ year old Epson.
Over to you

Hi @PJW7
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "paper jam" error
We could try a few steps to resolve the issue and I will able to provide you a step by step instructions to follow.
Please help me with the exact serial, product number, and model of your product to help you better.
Click on this link to know how to find the serial number of the product.
Meanwhile, let's try a power reset-
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Keep me posted.
