We have a check printer that we just bought, I am aware that it is an older model but it is the printer that does the job we need it to do. This printer has given us some issues and we did correct it at one point. I needed to get the PC upgraded from Windows 7 64 bit to Windows 10 64 Bit. The upgrade went well and there were not issues with installation or any type of drivers until I took a look at the printer, it is a local printer on the DOT4_001 port and the driver was HP LaserJet P4014/P4015 PCL 6, after the Windows 10 upgrade it went to a universal printer driver but I set it back to the HP LaserJet P4014/P4015 PCL 6 and kept all of the other settings. I called HP for support about the issue where it is asking documents to be manually fed and about having the checks printed with proper alignment. They said they no longer support the model so I was not sure what else needed to be done at this point. There is a red "attention" light that goes on and requires the manual feed, and the checks are completely out of alignment.
We are also using this printer to print checks from and Azure server and it is also happening from the Azure server. The last time I did troubleshooting for this printer it was no easy task, I would like to move past this issue and have proper documentation this way we do not continue to encounter this issue.
Any support/assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!

HP printers will only ask for manual feed for two reasons:
1. You have printed the job specifically to the MP tray
2. The program or driver is trying to print a paper size or paper type that is not loaded in the printer. For instance, if you have tray 2 set as size letter and type plain and your program wants to print legal, the printer will prompt to feed paper through the manual tray. The same behaviour if the program is trying to print type "letterhead" and you have plain paper loaded it will prompt to load letterhead in the MP tray.
You need to look at the programs you are running and how you have the drivers configured in order to avoid this problem. Also make sure that you are not using the Windows 10 class drivers as they work very differently than HP's drivers and cause nothing but problems. Even if you configured everything, if you did not disable Windows 10 print management, Windows may have made changes.

I am working with my end user now and cannot get around this problem. I do see the "effects" percentage or normal size is set to 100% when it was previously at 0%.
Is there any way to simply turn off the manual feed option this way the printer cannot do it?
