LaserJet Pro 400 - 10 years old+/-.  Great machine.  Just lately all text has a grey shadow (ghost) around them.

Printed a test page and "lines" and "square" do not line up.  cyan, red, and yellow blocks look good, but black box is "ghosted" just like text.   Is there some alignment in this machine? ThanksDSC00004.JPG

How many impressions on your LJ400?

My 14 year old LJ CM1415 shows 15,648.  Once, I had to toss a non-HP toner due to poor quality and ink powder leak.

According to Google's Ai quote:

A laser printer drum typically lasts for 10,000 to 20,000 pages, though the exact lifespan can vary. While some standard units estimate around 12,000 pages, factors like temperature, humidity, paper type, and print job size can affect the actual number of pages printed before the drum needs replacement. It is best to check your specific printer model for the expected page yield and be alert for print quality issues like fading or streaks, which are signs of a worn-out drum

A little more information for you. The way that HP laserjet printers work is that the color cartridges are aligned to the black when you perform a calibration. If you look at the top 4 blocks of color you will notice that the solid black and the 2 shades of grey do not line up. This is because the grey colors are created using composite of the three colors. If all your cartridges have decent toner levels, try performing 3 full calibrations. If that does not bring everything into line, then perform a factory reset and try the 3 full calibrations again.
