HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf MFP scans and photocopies are left 1/3 page perfect but right 2/3 nearly black with faint image visible if you look real close.

We can eliminate the printer end as prints sent from computer are fine. Scans to the computer also 2/3 nearly black just like photocopies.

Hard reset no change.

HP Scan and Print doctor detects no problems.

No, I can't take to authorized service as I am in the middle of the DR Congo and none within at least 800kms.

Tried that this morning. I even got a happy face when it successfully installed, nice touch. Absolutely no change. I have reseated the cables on the board but as yet have not quite figured out the removal of the glass for reseating the cable there. Scan.jpg

@Tshimanga

This looks like a hardware issue. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for trying. Hopefully someone will come along and identify exactly what hardware is at issue as the nearest support center is at least 800kms away. If I knew what part would solve the problem I could have someone bring it but hit and miss just don't work for me. Sadly I am considered the go to guy here for computer issues.

@Tshimanga

This is clearly the scanner that has issues and it is not a customer replaceable part.

And hence, contacting  HP Support would be the only option.

Thank you 🙂

An update. I took the glass off and reseated the cables but there is no change. I'm left thinking some part needs replacing but which is beyond me. Since I can only get parts when someone I know is coming from the US or Europe hit or miss trials are not an option.
