HP LaserJetPro MFP M127 series
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

The scanner function stop working

I have removed the application of HP printers

Downloaded "latest" sw version from HP site

In the Device and Printers 2 icon are showing: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127-M128 PCLmS and HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127-M128 PCLmS  (Copy 1)

Automatically defaults to the "Copy 1" if I delete the copy icon - the printer doesn't work at all

I set the Copy 1 as Default - I can print BUT I can't scan

If I run HP application “HP Print and Scan Doctor” automatically selects the Copy 1 (I was originally wireless – but for troubleshooting purposes I am connect via USB: the test for the printes passed BUT the test for the scanner (selected Fix scanner) STOPS in RED at Windows (WIA) Scan if I select in the same window Continue – changes to orange the same button then I get Red the boton: HP Twain Scan (it keeps a message stating the “The Scan process is cancelled by the user” of course I have done NOTHING!  Then I select CONTINUE and gets to the last button “HP Scan”it is in green.

I get the message: Everyting checks okay with your scanner (except for the tests you choose to skip).  Funny I did NOT chose to skip – it was my only option of your SW??????

Then the message below.... If you would like to perform a test scan to verify everything is working correctly, click “Test Scan”

I selected Test Scan and tatataan NOTHING happens NOTHING at all!

I gues the Doctor application is not accurate!

By the way I deactivated my firewall application so NO – Kaspersky support team has worked for 6 days in this issue. It is NOT Kaspersky BTW no time to take the survey)

Then my final possible solution – Run “HP_M127_128_FW_Update” as suggested at your site

I get the message Problem found – oh the printer is ON, is connected (I can print) No error message.

Anybody can provide the CORRECT solution in this place

Thanks in advance

Maffi

@Maffi

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are getting scanner issue.

  • Open the scanner lid, initiate scanning and check if the scanner light is lit up and moving across the scanner glass?

Meanwhile, power reset the printer

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others and please give the same post a Kudos.

Cheers.
