HP LaserJet Pro P1102w

I am considering buying a new Microsoft Surface Pro with a Snapdragon processor, running Windows 11 on ARM (ARM64).

I own two HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printers, both of which still work perfectly. I use them via a direct USB cable connection, not Wi-Fi, and I would very much like to continue using them rather than replace two functioning printers.

Before buying the new computer, I need to know:

  1. Does the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w work via USB with Windows 11 ARM64 on a Snapdragon-based PC?
  2. Is there an ARM64-compatible HP driver for the P1102w?
  3. If there is no dedicated P1102w ARM64 driver, is there another HP or Microsoft driver that works reliably with this printer via USB?
  4. Has anyone actually tested this specific combination: P1102w + USB + Windows 11 ARM64 + Snapdragon?
  5. If USB printing with the P1102w is not supported on ARM64, would I need to choose an Intel-based Windows 11 computer instead?

I am specifically asking about Windows 11 ARM64 / Snapdragon and a direct USB connection, not standard Windows 11 on an Intel or AMD computer.

I would be especially grateful for confirmation from anyone who has actually used the P1102w via USB on a Windows 11 ARM64/Snapdragon computer.

Thank you very much for any help.

Thank you so much for your response @NordicPrinterUs

HP has not explicitly confirmed that the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w cannot work via USB on Windows 11 ARM64; rather, they do not provide a dedicated ARM64 driver and therefore do not officially support or guarantee its operation.

Hello @NordicPrinterUs, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the driver for ARM-based Windows 11!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The HP LaserJet P1102w printer drivers are typically designed for x86 and x64 architectures and may not natively support ARM-based Windows 11 devices.

The HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer, does not provide a dedicated Windows 11 ARM64 driver for this model.

Yes. If maintaining guaranteed USB compatibility with the P1102w is a critical requirement, an Intel- or AMD-based Windows 11 system remains the lower-risk option because official driver support is better understood on x86/x64 platforms.

Thank you for the clarification.

Just to make sure I understand correctly: does this mean that HP has confirmed that the P1102w will not work via USB on Windows 11 ARM64/Snapdragon, or only that HP does not provide a dedicated ARM64 driver and therefore cannot guarantee that it will work?

I would be very interested to know whether anyone at HP or in the community has actually tested the P1102w via USB on a Windows 11 ARM64/Snapdragon computer, including with a Microsoft or universal printer driver.
