HP LaserJet P1006 will test print but nothing else.  Cannot cancel prints in que.

I understand your HP LaserJet P1006 can print a test page, but nothing else prints and the print queue cannot be cleared. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve this:

Clear the print queue
On your computer, go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
Right-click the HP P1006, select See what’s printing, then cancel all documents.
If the queue is stuck, restart the Print Spooler service:

Press Windows + R, type services.msc, find Print Spooler, right-click and select Restart.

Check USB connection
Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
Try a different USB port to rule out a port issue.

Reinstall the printer driver
Uninstall the current driver completely.
Download and install the latest HP LaserJet P1006 driver from the HP support website.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run it.
This tool can detect and fix connectivity, driver, and spooler issues.

Try printing from another application
Sometimes the problem is app-specific.
Open a different program (like Notepad or WordPad) and attempt a print.

Check for Windows updates
Ensure your operating system is up to date, as some printer issues are resolved by system updates.
