I have the Laserjet P1505 that won't print. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I have tried the internal print and all the troubleshooting steps and I still can not get my printer to print. Are there any other steps that you all have done or tried that have gotten your printer to start printing again short of replacing the printer? Thanks
Daniel

@dbrooks, It's been great to hear from you again.
I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.
As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.
Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried checking with a different ink toner?
You can try performing the step recommended below.
Cold Reset: Power cycle unit by switching the power switch off, wait for 10 seconds, then power on.
If the issue still persists it is a hardware issue with the printer, contact HP support and get the service options.

I'll watch your reply!
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Hi! @dbrooks, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand you have issues printing from your printer.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Are you able to make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried printing from a different application? Does the issue persist?
Have you tried checking with a different toner cartridge?
Try the steps recommended below.
You can clean the interior of the product by using the Cleaning mode function in Windows. To do this, follow these steps:
Load paper in the input tray.
Make sure that the product is idle and that the Ready light is on steady.
Open Printer Properties.
Open the Printer or the Printers and Faxes folder.
Windows XP: Click Start, and click Printers and Faxes.
Windows Vista: Click the Vista icon (), click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Printer.
Right-click the product icon, and click Properties.
Click the Configure tab.
In the Cleaning Page section, click Start to begin the cleaning.
NOTE:
The cleaning process takes approximately 2 minutes. The cleaning page stops periodically during the cleaning process. Do not turn the product off or interrupt the cleaning process until it finishes and the cleaning page ejects. You might need to repeat the cleaning process several times to thoroughly clean the product.
Refer this article to further troubleshoot print quality issues.
Let me know if this works!
Have a pleasant day ahead! 🙂

This suggestion does not help. I have tried from different programs and the printer won't print. I have not made any changes to the printer. In fact to make sure I uninstalled the old software for it and reinstalled it and still no joy in getting it to print. In fact, the buttons on top do not work. The Green print button when pressed results in nothing being printed. I have tried all the troubleshooting and still can't get this printer to actually print. I have a second printer hooked up and it prints just fine but the one I really want to print won't work. I have pulled the cartridge and reseated it in the printer to be sure that this was not the issue and it is not the issue. I have plenty of fresh paper in the feed tray and there is no attempt to feed. There is also no flashing light like normal when the print jobs are sent to the printer.

I updated my computer and changed the admin rights and all of the sudden my printer is back online and printing so I don't really understand what the matter truly was but it appears it has fixed itself.
Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

we are having the same issue trying to get a new win 10 pc to use the HP P1505 printer. dbrooks said they resolved their issue when "I updated my computer and changed the admin rights and all of the sudden my printer is back online and printing so I don't really understand what the matter truly was but it appears it has fixed itself." Can you elaborate on that. What admin rights did you change and to what?

Schwagd,
I made sure that I had my user ID set to being the administrator for the computer I was using. I made sure I had rights for making changes settings and all for the computer. I also made sure that I had updated the software that was installed and then once those were done I restarted the computer and it appeared to start working again so I am making the educated guess that those two things fixed the job.
I hope that helps you understand the steps toward finding a fix that I took. Let me know if this helps you.
