Laserjet M402dw
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Hello,

I have been having a problem with printing. I was trying to print from my macbook air laptop (2012 version, mac OS Sierra 10.12.16) through an HP Laserjet M402dw printer by use of a cable connecting the printer to the computer. The item I was trying to print was a PDF of a questionnaire. However, the item would not print. Instead, the printer would print a piece of paper that only said:

ERROR: undefined

OFFENDING COMMAND: New

STACK:

/AAAAAD+ *Times

/FontName

I tried googling this, but I couldn't seem to find anything on the OFFENDING COMMAND: New problem. I'm wondering what I should do. Thank you!

Likely causes are either a corrupted PDF or the PDF contains a font that your computer or printer do not have and instead of substituting a different font it threw an error.

It sounds like a Postscript language error.

Some report that the version of Mac OS can be the problem. Upgrading it tends to fix it.
