Hi,
I know that our brand new M4326DFW does duplex copying and does so very well. However we are using this on a network and one of its main functions will be scanning to a network share Duplex invoices for input into a finance system. However whilst successfully setting up network scan feature nowhere does it allow me to set these documents to be duplex. I have installed the HP Scan EXT software however this point blank refuses to run.
Please advise on how I enable duplex scanning to a network share.
Thanks,

The specs do not state that this model supports duplex scanning:

It looks like only automatic duplex printing is supported with this model. A physical duplexing unit is required for duplex print or scanning and HP normally states when one is present. You will have to use manual scanning with this model.

Morning,
Thanks for your reply however I have to disagree with your comment.
From this link
Scanner advanced features
Scan-to-email
Scan-to-Cloud
Scan-to-USB
Scan-to-network folder
LDAP email lookup
One-pass two-sided scanning ADF (50-sheet)
It works in the copier function perfectly, infact it works very well it copies duplex sheets in just one pass.
I am sure its a software "thing" that could be enable or awaiting and update, we purchased the device in the belief it would do this function.

You are right.
The UK site is different than the US site. I found confirmation about the duplex scanning feature on the US site but I had to dig down into the external specs sheet to find it. My bad for not checking there first. Duplex scanning seemed like a major feature they would have wanted on the main website.
To your original question. Network scanning can be accomplished from any imaging software. MS Paint can import images from scanners as long as it knows where to find them. Try importing a scanned duplex image from another application to see if this is a setting issue with the HP software or not. You can try MS Paint and the MS Fax and Scan Wizard.
The next step would be to make sure you are running the latest firmware and software for your OS. Sometimes the default software is missing a feature like this which gets corrected with future versions. Running the latest is a must when troubleshooting.

Just like there is an option to check for duplex copying and setting default copy functions, there is also an option to check for duplex scanning and settings your default scan settings. Are you able to get to the web interface by typing the m426's IP address into a web browser. It's usually easier to fine tune settings from this interface.
If you just try and scan to network folder from the MFP, do you see an option for duplex or 2 sided scanning?
1. Load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the printer.
2. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Scan icon.
3. Touch the Scan to Network Folder item.
4. In the list of network folders, select the folder to which you want to save the document.
5. The control panel screen displays the scan settings.
● If you want to change any of the settings, touch the Settings button, and then change the settings.
● If the settings are correct, go to the next step.
6. Touch the Scan button to start the scan job.

Hi
Sorry about lack of response, I have been on other projects. Can confirm with network scanning in scan settings there is no option to set it to duplex. I have also tried on the IP interface settings and there is no mention of network scan settings here either.
I did look to see if there was any firmware updates for this device and sadly nothing listed on its support page using its S/N to find the page.
I even tried the software on 2 devices with the full scan and that didnt change anything.
I have attached a screen shot of the scan settings page.

I would also suggest trying from the printer screen after configuring the network profile.
Click Scan > Network Folder and select your profile, from there look for any setting on the printer itself to scan both sides and check if a such may appear there.
