Got a 50.2 fuser error when printer is turned on. Have tried the power cycling to no avail.

I bought a new fuser and replaced it only to find that the 50.2 fuser error came right back the first time I booted up the printer with it in there.

I do not really like to just buy new parts without trouble shooting, but there is very limited info on the internet about printers. Seems like most people just throw them away the minute they break...

I've read that you need to replace the fuser, and if not that then you need to replace the low voltage supply. Well before I go spend another $200 for a low voltage supply, is there any way to bench test or troubleshoot it to see if that is really what it is?

This is a home computer. Have had it for 4 years maybe, and have probably sent less than 1,000 pages through it. It still have the original sample pack ink toners, so this thing get's very little use.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just to confirm, you have the printer connected directly to the wall, not to any type of surge protector or powerbar. The service manual for this product does not reference any solution beyond replacing the fuser and the low voltage power supply would be the next logical device, however the DC controller also plays a part in controlling fuser temperature. This error however is a slow fuser error which means it is not heating fast enough which would point towards the power supply or the outlet you are plugging into. I would move the printer to a different location and plug it in to see what happens before spending any more time or money swapping parts.
