We have an HP Laserjet M506 purchased new in 02/2018. Today we started getting: 10.00.01 Supply memory error
We have tried swapping cartridges, even a new cartridge with the same results. Reset to factory settings, etc.
Any other solutions? I've read it could be the chip reader, but cannot find a source to purchase one? Any suggestions?

It could just be your toner. Make sure your auto updates are disabled and your cartridge check along with the dynamic security is off to. Try a new toner first if a new fails it might be the contacts that read the toner are damaged
