Trying to add my officejet printer to my printers and it only shows as a "fax" ; lets me connect but will not print.
Have tried resetting printeres, resetting print drivers in mac os; have tried numerous things but cant seem to get it to work.
what is going on? cant seem to solve this.
Is the officejet 6500 series now not compatibale with Mojave operating system. That seems sort of crazy

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One Printer is compatible with macOS 10.14 Mojave and the driver is available via Apple Software Update. If the printer is already connected to your home WiFi network or connected to Mac using a USB cable then you may use the steps below to add a compatible driver:
1. Use the steps available here to update the software on Mac.
2. Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
3. Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
4. If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
5. Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
6. Click the Use or Print Using menu, select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
7. Try to print.
Let me know how it goes.
