HP OfficeJetPro 8710
macOS 10.12 Sierra

OfficeJetPro 8710 says it is connected to the wifi network but whenever I attempt to print, the document never goes through. I have tried restarting the printer a few times and that will not help. Please advice. Thank you.

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!


I see that you are having issues while printing to your Officejet printer. Appreciate all your efforts and I’d suggest you reset the print system to fix this issue. Here are the steps:
 

  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
  • Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
  • Click the “Add button” (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  • Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “AirPrint” would be selected)

Have the same question but using an HP computer and Windows 10 operating system. Did not have this issue with the HP 6700 model I have.  Despite following the instructions explicitly for wireless set up of the printer, no documents can be printed wirelessly.
