Laserjet P1102w
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a p1102w that I just set up for a co-worker at our office. It is out of the box new, however, it has been sitting in storage since February.

The problem I'm facing is that the printer itself seems unable to recieve power from any source. None of the lights will turn on and the power button doesn't seem to actually press. The button does not click or  have any resistance. It just slides slightly in and stays there until you tilt the printer for it to slide back out. I've followed all instructions given by the box, manuals, and the generic printer support page on the HP Support website. I've also ensured the power cord works on another device.

Is there something that I can do to fix this myself or is the issue something that I would need to send the printer in for?

Welcome @MT001,

Thanks for participating in the forums! I see that the printer won't power on. I would be happy to help you.

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a powered hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

This may seem silly but make sure you are pressing the power button on the front of the printer and not the top buttons.

I have provided a document for power issues, but it looks like you have tried all the steps:  HP LaserJet Printers - Printer Does Not Turn On.

If the issue continues then the printer will need to be serviced. Please contact
HP Customer Support and inquire about a replacement printer. Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance.

Feel free to click on the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up" if this helped. Please let me know the results. Best Regards,

I appreciate the help, it seems like this one just sat in storage too long. We're in the process of getting a replacement. Thank you for your well laid out response.
