Hello,
To solve this problem, I invite you to follow this procedure to reinitialize the printer:
- Turn on the product and look at the control panel display.
- When the display shows the memory counter, press and hold the down arrow until all three lights on the control panel are lit.
- Press the up arrow.
- Press the menu button. The SKIP DISK LOAD message appears on the control panel.
- Press the up arrow until NVRAM INIT is highlighted, then press OK.
The product returns to the Ready state once ended introduction.
Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of need.
Best Regards,

49 errors are most often caused by out of date firmware that results in the printer receiving commands from software that it does not understand. You can test this by removing any network or USB cables and then cycling the power. If the unit starts fine with no cables attached then you most likely do not have an problem that an nvram reset is going resolve long term. You need to go to support.HP.com and download the current firmware and following the instructions, update your printer. You may need to purge all print jobs from the print queues of attached printers before you will be able to upgrade the firmware.
