PageWide Pro 577
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

We have two PageWide Pro 577 MFPs. It looks like we can only save 15 addresses in the address book. Am I taking crazy-pills??? What gives HP that's ridiculous. If I delete an address I can add a new one. If I delete an address and try to add two (in two browser windows) it gives me an error that the list is full.

Yeah, what gives? I'm having the same problem? Is HP smoking crack?

I have talked to HP support; This is the limit of the address book. They are indeed smoking crack.

Well, it's all about the target audience! This is an smb product. Please be aware of the use case.

International economic organizations generally recognize mid-size companies as a separate category, and they even have a shorthand term, "SMEs" to refer to small and medium-size enterprises. According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, most countries define a small business as one with 50 or fewer employees, and a mid-size business as one with between 50 and 250 employees. Some countries set the limit at 200. In the European Union, for example, mid-size companies are those with 50 to 250 workers and annual revenue of less than 50 million euros, which -- as of mid-2013 -- equaled about $66 million.

Well it looks like small businesses are under 50 employees and medium is under 200. Shouldn't this be marketed towards micro-businesses?

HP has released a firmware update for the HP PageWide Pro 577dw which increases the size of the address book to 50 entries.

If your printer is not set to get printer updates automatically and/or has not already been updated, you can manually check for the update via the Embedded Web Server (EWS) on the product.

To check the version of firmware on your printer, enter the IP address of your printer into your web browser to view the EWS, then select the "Tools" tab, then select "Printer Updates", and then "Firmware Updates" on the left panel.

The firmware version which includes the larger Address Book capability has the characters "1908C.00" at the end of the firmware version.  If your printer has a lower version number, go to the "Check for Printer Updates" section lower on the page and click on the "Check Now" button, then follow the prompts to download and install the printer update.

Note that if your PageWide Pro 577dw has a newer version of firmware, like "1921E.00" or greater, it will also have the larger address book.

Even with the latest firmware CANDELPR2N001.1913C.00 we can still not add more that 15 entries.
