HP color laserjet MFP M577dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I have a HP color laserjet MFP M577dn.

Then i was on a small vacation and get back and did press the start button.

The printer starts up. The touch screen is dead. The fan is running on high rpm. No connection to the network.

I have change the cable. No connection to the wireless network. The heartbeat led is blinking slow green and that means ok.

The print engine is tested though the small hole on the bakside. The paper comes out with lines.

The printer program can not find the printer.

What to do?

Regards

Tony

Hi Turbine,

Turn the printer on, let it boot and print an engine test page.

At the rear side of the screen there is a round big button. Press it several times. Does the screen change colours or does it stay black?

Turn the printer off.

Check all the connectors to the formatter, especially the ones that come from the operation panel. Disconnect and reconnect them all. Remove the black cover under the screen and check all  the connectors to the operation panel, reseat them all. Turn the printer on and see if there is any change.

Let me know how it goes,

Cheers!

Hi Alex

The touch screen is dead but when i press the round rubber button on the backside so is it working to touch and showing different color. So the screen seems ok..

Printing  an engine test page work good.

The hartbeat led blinks slowly in green.

The LED lamp over the paper feed out place is is on

All connectors cable except the flat cables har be loose and reattach again. No change.

Then your formatter must be faulty. I know that you have a green LED light on it but this is not telling the truth always. I have encountered several HP printers that the formatter's heart LED was green and it was faulty or the LED was amber and working.

I hope this will help,

Cheers!
