I've replaced toners in past on Laser Jet 200.  Used 125 replacements.  Bought HP 125 and in small print it says it CB541 series.  It will NOT fit, not made the same as a plastic tab on left side blocks the toner from sliding in.  Is there a solution?

Proper cartridge for the 200 series is supposed to be the 131A (CF210A). The shells may be similar but the interlocks are likely different, are these reman cartridges by any chance? I ask because often reman companies will modify similar cartidges to fit and not remove OEM labels (which is patent violation) which confuses customers down the road when they go to order replacements.

Indeed, getting the correct 131A cartridge would be the solution (Assuming you have an M251 or M276 printer).

An HP 125A cartridge (CB543A) is intended for the HP Color LaserJet CP1515n CP1518ni, CP1215 or the CM1312 printers, not for your printer:
