HP4015 Paper Tray part

Had the 500 sheet paper tray get jammed and when I got it unstuck i found this part floating around in the tray but I cant identify it on any of the schematics....any ideas?

As I understand there's a paper tray part broken and you need help with the same,

I'd like to thank you for the detailed description of your concern,

 as you have ensured I don't have to ask any more questions, that said, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue and its almost impossible to locate and/or repair such a part, that said, the best thing to do, is Contact HP to have the printer either repaired or replaced at the service center:

* Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

* Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get a Case & phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately. 

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

I would think the unit is way out of warranty as the model was discontinued over 6 years ago. That said my first question is does the printer work without that part. If it does I would not worry about it. If the printer is not working from that tray does it work from the tray 1 manual fold down tray. If it does, then odds are that piece is part of the 500 sheet cassette and I doubt you can find that as a seperate part and you may have to purchase a new tray which are really not that expensive.  Attached is a breakdown of the parts for the tray from the service manual.

Thanks for the info, I get an out of paper error message but there is paper in the tray.

I am using the manual feed tray at the moment but it is a bit annoying.

I am guessing the part is from somewhere other than the tray as it isnt listed  or shown on any of the tray breakdown pics.
